Porcelain Veneers are one of the most versatile cosmetic procedures offered by today’s cosmetic dental professionals.
Porcelain veneers are essentially thin porcelain shells that are bonded to the outside surface of the teeth and in many cases require little to no reduction of the natural tooth structure.
These veneers can be used to fix a variety of imperfections including staining, chips, cracks, erosions, developmental imperfections and even minor misalignments.
Dr. Mee is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has had extra education in cosmetic dental procedures. He implements a smile design process unique to each of his patients to develop a treatment plan that is ideal for that particular pati
Benefits of Porcelain Veneers:
In many cases limited to no preparation is required and in some cases anesthetic may not be required
Relatively quick; requiring 3-4 visits over a time span of about 3 weeks
Restores esthetics to chips, cracks, short teeth, stains, spaces, misalignment and many other dental imperfections.
Custom made for every individual for optimum esthetic results
Materials are very durable, resistant to staining and appear extremely natural
The initial visit requires full diagnostic work up including exam, X-rays and cleaning. Also, elimination of any decay, periodontal disease, oral hygiene problems and any other active disease is required to ensure best results possible.
The consultation is the most important step of the process; patients are encouraged to bring photos and any other information that could help them work through the smile design process with Dr. Mee.
Many photographs are taken for documentation and communication with the dental lab. Impressions are made so the dental lab can then make a diagnostic wax up of the final result.
Trial smile visit
The diagnostic wax up is shown to the patient and if they approve the minimal preparations can be initiated. After the preparations of the tooth surfaces are completed an impression will be made to send to the ceramist at the dental lab.
Then the trial smile temporary is fabricated on the teeth for the patient to try for the next few weeks and any adjustments that need to be made will be done at this time before the final veneers are bonded in place.
Try-in and Cementation
At this appointment the porcelain veneers are ready to try in the mouth. The temporary trial smile is removed and each individual veneer is tried in to check the fit and the esthetics. The patient will have the opportunity to check and discuss with Dr. Mee whether or not they feel they are ready for cementation.
Once the final checks are completed the veneers are ready to be bonded to the teeth with a light cured resin material. All excess material is cleaned and the bite and function is checked again.
In just a few office visits, you can improve a range of dental issues with porcelain veneers. These effective treatments are made to both look and feel natural and are made of high quality material that can last for decades.

Cosmetic bonding can be used to restore teeth that have been affected with gaps, chips, stains, cracks and even slight misalignment. This procedure has been around for decades and the advances in the newer bonding materials have resulted in a much more durable and esthetic result.
This procedure typically requires little to no loss of natural tooth structure and in some cases anesthetic is not needed. A composite resin material that matches the shade of the tooth is applied and shaped to proper contours and then cured with a light. The composite is then polished to give a high shine natural appearance.

Porcelain Crowns and Bridges
Porcelain dental crowns are essentially durable coverings placed over a tooth to restore form function and esthetics to teeth that are heavily decayed, damaged, or broken down. Porcelain crowns can be used in a variety of situations including:
to protect a weak tooth
to restore a tooth that is already broken or severely worn down
to hold a dental bridge in place
to cover a dental implant during the final stage of restoration
Classically crowns have been made of gold or even porcelain fused to a metal substrate. It is now possible to create all-porcelain or even zirconia crowns that are extremely durable and do not compromise esthetics with a dark grey line near the gums.
We use high quality materials developed by companies like Emax, Empress, Bruxzir, and Lava that have the highest standards in esthetics and durability. Once an impression of your teeth has been made, the crown will be custom designed for the most accurate fit. Dr. Mee will take care to precisely color-match the crown to your surrounding teeth which will give the crown a natural appearance.
A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth and is basically two crowns on either side of an empty space that are connected by a false porcelain tooth also know as a pontic. The bridge is permanently cemented in place just like a single unit crown.
Porcelain dental crowns are very effective treatments to restore both form and function to damaged teeth. For more information about porcelain dental crowns, please contact our practice.
Teeth whitening treatments are free for life for all patients at Citrus View Dental who are current on both their exams and cleanings. Tooth discoloration and surface staining is inevitable no matter how well you take care of your teeth. There are many factors that can contribute to the yellowing of teeth whether it is age, pulp degeneration and highly pigmented food like coffee and wine.
Pretty much anything that can stain your shirt overtime can stain your teeth. To maintain a bright white smile teeth whitening is an effective, safe and relatively quick treatment option. Teeth whitening can be accomplished in the comfort of your own home while wearing custom fitted trays which hold the bleaching gel in place.
Some patients do experience some sensitivity with teeth bleaching procedures but this can be reduced by simply adjusting the strength of gel or shortening the duration the trays are worn. We also provide a desensitizing paste that will help remineralize the teeth after whitening treatments.
